About The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Director of Finance and Accounting. This hands-on role involves overseeing financial planning, budget management, and ensuring regulatory compliance. As a key member of our small finance team, comprising this Director of Finance and Accounting and a Controller, you will be actively involved in executing the work, reflecting the essence of a collaborative and tightly-knit team. This position offers the chance to directly report to executive leadership, shaping our company's financial strategies and success.
Key Finance Responsibilities
- Develop and oversee financial processes and systems to support business scalability
- Lead all financial planning and analysis (FP&A), including forecasting, budgeting, and cash flow management
- Support other departments with modeling potential revenue for new SaaS and other service products
- Own building and managing monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasts
- Develop strategies to increase return on investment, profitability, and tax credits
- Coordinate with auditors, maintain relationships with creditors and regulators, and ensure compliance
- Oversee payroll processing for accuracy and compliance with labor laws
- Review and approve payable transactions, optimizing payment terms and vendor relationships
- Develop and maintain internal controls, regularly updating procedures and conducting audits
- Own hiring, mentoring, and scaling the department to support organizational growth
- Collaborate with the executives and directors to create budgets and track key performance indicators
- Streamline financial systems for efficient reporting, integrating operations and accounting tools
- Ensure regulatory compliance, mitigate risks, and maintain financial integrity
- Analyze processes for efficiency improvements and cost-saving initiatives
- 8+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience within B2C SaaS or high-growth startups with $50MM+ in revenue, demonstrating hands-on leadership in owning financial processes
- In-depth knowledge of financial regulations, accounting principles, and best practices
- Experience managing third-party financial and tax relationships
- Skilled in constructing accurate financial statements
- Experience implementing and using ERP systems, such as NetSuite, Sage, or similar platforms
- Strategic problem-solving mindset with high integrity and ethics, as well as excellent communication abilities in a swiftly changing environment
- Advanced proficiency in financial software and Excel
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
- CPA certification
- Hands-on management of international finance and accounting needs
- Knowledgeable in FTC regulatory compliance, risk management, and M&A
