Position Summary
The Food R&D Technologist is responsible for testing, validating, and documenting new food automation solutions with a focus on product characteristics that influence equipment performance. The self-motivated and results driven professional is responsible for all operations and maintenance of the R&D area.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Perform R&D tests on food automation equipment including detailed documentation of findings.
- Responsible for the operation and maintenance of the R&D area.
- Support Engineering, Product Sales Managers, Product Management and Sales with product configuration and in customer meetings.
- Perform customer demonstrations on R&D equipment as needed.
- Limited design engineering with Solid Works for prototyping.
- Conducts R&D field applications including in-plant test and application-based service calls.
- Perform basic trouble shooting of R&D equipment.
- Duties as assigned.
- Excellent technical writing skills.
- Good presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to effectively provide technical explanations tailored to varying audiences.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to understand customer needs, transfer them into technical solutions and communicate value proposition.
- Excellent technical skills and ability to understand the operation of complex production systems.
- Ability to successfully manage multiple projects/priorities.
- Ability to work in a team environment will be essential.
- Bachelor or Master Degree in Engineering or Food Science
- Minimum 5 years of proven work experience in a related field.
- Current valid U.S. driver's license.
- Valid U.S. passport or have the ability to obtain one.
- Must have the ability to travel within North America and Germany occasionally
