What You Will Do

The School Education & Training Senior Manager is responsible for building and implementing training programs to support the growth and acquisition of school accounts. Support the AVP of Business Development and collaborate on new partnership proposals to ensure new partners experience a smooth transition and strong start. The Senior Manager of Education and Training will also help identify unique needs specific to schools and develop and implement training programs and events centered around those specific needs. The Senior Manager of School Education and Training is expected to drive the growth of PPD overall in schools and supplement brand education for their core accounts

Job Duties And Accountabilities

  • Education Development (20%)
  • Develop class formats and content specific to school accounts, including, but not limited to, instructor facilitating, color theory and techniques, increasing clinic floor sales, texture and growing retail.
  • Manage Texture Mastery training program. Assess needs and evolve training plan for future program iterations.
  • Work in tandem with AVP of Business Development and brand EEM to create and implement education plans for assigned core accounts
  • Create school onboarding plan for each assigned brand including resources from brand websites, L’Oreal Access and live brand education
  • Manage school specific learning plans on L’Oreal Access, Pivot Point Lab and Milady CIMA where applicable
  • Training (60%)
  • Facilitate instructor and student trainings for schools to support growth both existing and new accounts as a supplement to brand earned education
  • Partner with AVP of Business Development to manage relationship for SPEC franchise company ESI and TSPA location including training needs, education budget, scholarship program and monthly update calls
  • Monitor & track monthly sales to ensure schools are achieving growth; use insights to identify areas of opportunities for trainings. Develop new programs/content as required
  • Create and implement monthly update calls with assigned core brands focused on new product launches, brand updates and education opportunities
  • NEW SCHOOL PARTNERSHIPS (10%)
  • Partner with BSD team, EEMs and AVP of Business Development to close new partnerships by creating and supporting training plans for new school proposals.
  • Facilitate immediate virtual launch meeting with new accounts covering brand foundational PK, L’Oreal Access and curriculum support to ensure smooth transition with conversion
  • ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES (10%)
  • Partner with AVP of Business Development to supply monthly performance reporting to management
  • Attend respective brand trainings for assigned core brands
  • Attend school focused trade show events such as AACS, PBA Beacon and SalonCentric SCNC

Key Challenges, Issues And Complexity

  • Assess educational needs for school clients based on their limited time allocation to education and high turnover percentage for instructors. Creative solutions and problem solving are key to maximizing education resources. Clear, consistent education planning and implementation are paramount to the growth of our schools and success in this role
  • Partner with brand education teams to build comprehensive education plans and opportunities for top school companies maximizing declining education budgets

Required Qualifications

What We Are Looking For:

  • Must be a licensed cosmetologist
  • Must be trained in facilitation skills
  • No degree requirements
  • Years of experience – 2-3 years education/ facilitation experience preferred
  • Job Specific Experience/Skills:
    • Preferred experience in Matrix
    • Facilitation skills/ training
  • Technical Skills- MS Office , Salesforce
  • List Physical requirements of the role (i.e. sitting, standing, twisting, bending
  • Requires 60% travel
Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced Degrees- not required
  • Relevant Industry Certifications – facilitation training, color certification preferred but not required
