Long post alert 😌
I had promised a detailed review after some time of treatment. So here it is.
Calling Dr. Ravi a savior would be giving him the Status of God and that would not be fair to Dr. Ravi. In my experience, we can reach out to God. But then God decides if He wants to show us the right path or not. We don’t even know if God has received our prayers or not. However, that is not true for Dr. Ravi.
Last year and a half has been a roller coaster ride for me. There were many ups and downs. Dr. Ravi gave me the tools to navigate these ups and downs fearlessly. If ever I forgot to use the tools in the heat of the moment, Dr. Ravi was always there to steer me back. Sometimes by changing the dosage of medicine, sometimes by counseling and sometimes by simply saying “I know you can handle it on your own”. The last method is the most powerful. It would motivate me to handle things on my own just so that I can prove that Dr. Ravi’s confidence in me is not misplaced.
Trusting another person with your innermost thoughts is probably the hardest thing one can do. Over time Dr. Ravi has gained my trust such that I can tell him almost anything, without any fear of being judged. Of course that doesn’t mean that he won’t point it out if I am going in the wrong direction. He just does it with a lot of sensitivity.
Yes. Sometimes he does take calls during the consultation. Honestly, it was a little weird in the beginning. But now I realize that he has to do that as he never knows which patient needs him and to what extent. He has taken my calls when I was really low and just the fact that he was there helped me to fight out whatever was getting me down. So now I don’t mind it all. After all, if I expect him to be there for me when I need his help, then his other patients have the right to expect the same from him.
Then there’s the fact that he has the amazing ability to provide the right kind of support after just knowing the name. At least I think that he has a great memory as he can bring up all the details of my case without me having to repeat it for him every time.
Am I giving too much praise for him? Maybe. Maybe I am biased because he has never been too mean, or in his own words a jerk, to me. Even when I have flatly refused to do what he asked me to do. But then Don’t be under the impression that he can’t be a jerk when you refuse to follow his line of treatment. I try to follow his advice as much as I can. So he tries to understand why l’d refuse. I am not a model patient, but I am not the greatest either.
In the end, I would like to say that even if my treatment ends, Dr. Ravi will always be my go-to person as he is patient and totally down to earth. I just hope that he doesn’t get fed up of me and my antics by then. 😉
All the best for the future Doc. And do take some time out for yourself and your family in between taking care of us, your patients.
Visited For GiddinessArthritis and Pain Management
I visited the doctor for strange kinds of sensations in my head. I have been visiting many doctors for the same complaint from past 3 years. A major problem in Bangalore I felt is that there is no clarity which doctor to visit for these kinds of complaints. I visited general physicians, neurologists, psychiatists, ENT doctors and even non-allopathic doctors. But the problem remained the same. Even I went to the most popular neurologist of Ramaiah Medical College. But I didn't get a proper solution. I underwent a series of investigations including the costly ones like MRI, hearing tests and so many. But after all these tests, my phisician told that they are not able to diagnose and they referred tome Dr. Ravi in Family Hospital. They said that he is an expert in such kinds of cases. Really he has expert clinical skills. He conducted several tests in the OPD itself which were never done to me before. Finally they made a diagnosis of simple anxiety and gave some medications. He also explained to me in simple language why it is not Vertigo, brain or ear related problems which was diagnosed to me before. Surprisingly, my condition started improving within 1 week. Now after 3 visits, the problem is almost gone. The advantage of of Dr. Ravi is that he has knowledge of both neurology and psychiatry because of which he can test in both the directions. We need more doctors like him so that the lot of money spent in unnecessary investigations and visiting many doctors can be saved. I recommend him to everyone who is having problems in diagnosis of their symptoms, especially confused if to go to a Neurologist or a Psychiatrist.

Doctor Ravi Prakash was the much needed help I was looking for all these years.
After 10 years in psychotherapy and taking medication for OCD, though my OCD itself was definitely resolved, there were many underlying issues which were left completely unaddressed. Even after frequent regular visits spanning more than a decade to prominent doctors nobody really could understand the depth of my problems and I saw little relief. It was no wonder that when situations got somewhat out of hand, I was left completely vulnerable and distressed. When my condition was really going from bad to worse by the minute, I was handed a number of contacts of psychiatrists by a family member . Dr. Ravi Prakash's name was on the list and thankfully was one of the few doctors practising on a Sunday. After reading his profile and taking an appointment from his team who were extremely obliging and responsive I met with the doctor
Sitting across from me at the table the doctor was extremely calm and reassuring in his demeanour. This was the first time that any doctor had actually treated me with so much care and compassion. Though I was far from recovery, stressed and sceptical about he treatment I couldn't help but feel a sense of hope, howeever miniscule it was. From the get go the doctor seemed to have a deep understanding of general issues and my specific problems. I knew then that his approach was going to be different . During subsequent visits he always infused me with hope and encouraged me even though I could barely comprehend my own strengths and abilities. He was tirelessly pushing for my recovery. The other thing I really liked about his treatment is his insistence on becoming independent of medication which I did thanks to his faith in me.
In short I never thought anyone would be able to help, understand and treat me the way that Doctor Ravi Prakash did. It is a huge added plus that he is a wonderful human being and a friend to confide in with a strong desire to help those who are suffering. Truly a blessing and I am very lucky to have come across him.
I urge anyone seeking his help to trust him and sincerely work with him and he will see you through. And yes definitely keep working on the tools he provides until you embody them. This is a reminder even to me.
I am still working on myself and improving every day but I can say that my journey has finally begun.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart doctor. I wish you a long spanning career and hope you can reach out to many more people in need.
Visited For Depression TreatmentAnxiety Disorders TreatmentPanic Disorder Treatment
Having read good reviews, I visited Dr. Ravi on 7th September 2017 and have been under treatment since then for depressive disorder and anxiety disorder.
From Day 1, I found him way different from other conventional psychiatrists who only give more emphasis on medication. But, Dr. Ravi seemed to have a different approach who believes medication can only be one'support system and can't be the only mode of treatment. According to him, for an effective/ holistic treatment, one must undergo psychotherapy along with medication. The way he simplifies down the problems and explains them to his patients is really commendable. According to him, a doctor can only be a guide i.e. show the right path but the patient has to take the onus and use his/her will power to put an honest effort to follow doctors instructions religiously. He believes one must also have perseverance, work hard and try to develop the skills by himself/ herself and not solely depend on the doctor to march towards recovery. Another great quality of Dr Ravi is his availability. He is available/reachable through calls or even messages most times of the day unless he is very occupied. He makes sure that he is there to help his patients whenever they need his help genuinely. Also* ** *** ***** ****** in conducting psychotherapy/ CBT. His hanouts / materials reagarding various topics of CBT are really helpful.
But, having said all these, I would like to say that at the same time I had some uncomfortable experiences too which again might not stand true in case of other patients. Firstly, on few occasions, I found him a bit rude which unfortunately did not have apositive impact on me.
Secondly, one fine day he happen to make a statement "I am the best and patients from 17 countries consult me " which kind of surprised me and I felt he is little overconfident. * ******* ** *** ** *** ** *** **** ******* ** *** ***** *** * **** **** ********* *** ************ Afteral, one need it be vocal about his potential, his/ her work would j
do the job. Thirdly, I strongly feel at times doctors should prioritize patients' best interests / immediate effect such that non pursuance of certain things leads to further distress. I believe I was unfortunate in that respect which eventually aggravated my misery. Fourthly, I believe each patient has a different personality. The ones who are highly sensitive should be handled with caution by him. I am sorry to say that Dr. Ravi needs to be more pleasant and friendly with his patients and ensure they feel comfortable.
So, overalI I would say that I have had a mixed experience so far receiving treatment from him. And lastly, I sincerely apologize for having stated some negative aspects in my feedback but I wanted to be honest about my experience.

Hi Friends,
I just want you to be in good hands, which is why am compelled to write the review.. Friends I have been suffering from psychological problem since my childhood, say about from the age of 12.. Now am 27 and it's almost 14years of struggle... I have been to numerous doctors all over India including AIMS which is Asia's biggest hospital and well qualified doctors, Columbia Asia, NIMHANS ,and many other hospital to name.. Friends all the doctors I have been have no patience for atleast give 2mins to analyze my problem, in return they simply scribble the prescription and ask to follow up after 1month and so.. After all my struggle I met Dr Ravi Prakash.. First time when I went to him he gave ample of time to disclose my problems, by the way he is very strict, if you are given a task then u are suppose to do it no matter what, where I feel no doctor will be strict and dedicated like Dr Ravi prakash as per my experience.. He analyzed my problem with couple of tests and came to conclusion that am suffering with Ocd.. Which was really accurate in regards with my problem.. He even took the responsibility to cure my Ocd, Dr Ravi prakash said "Rohith" don't worry I will cure your problem and that's my assurance to u.. Friends let me tell you that it not easy to give you assurance, I have personally switched several doctors but none of them even tried to boost my confidence like Dr Ravi Prakash.. I am very blessed to have him as my Doctor.. I have never wrote a review but his dedication towards me have made me write this review.. I can say that he is my God Father.. If anyone of you r suffering with any kind of mental chalanges then I would definitely suggest you to take consultation and meet Ravi Prakash with no second thought. But my suggestion is if you start taking the treatment and feeling good never stop the medicines without taking the opinion from Dr Ravi Prakash.. N also never switch to some other doctor because Dr Ravi Prakash will stop treating you if you leave the course half way,and there is a scientific reason for that.. Hope my review helps u..
I am under treatment with Dr. Ravi Prakash from past 2 years. I was suffering from Obsessive compulsive disorder. I cannot tell the distress which I was undergoing by facing the repeated obsessive thoughts. It was just a hell in my mind. Then I read some reviews on just dial and visited the doctor. Frankly speaking, I was not very sure how things would turn out in first visit. The doctor looked pretty normal and not extraordinary like the reviews I had read. But slowly, I started understanding the special approach of doctor towards psychiatric illnesses. In between I changed a couple of psychiatrists also to be sure. But no doubt, the best of the lot was Dr. Ravi Prakash. Over past 2 years, things turned out exactly as he predicated. First he started me on medications and slowly decreased to dosage to stop it. Subsequently I was only maintained on some behavioral therapy techniques. He would repeatedly say that I need to put my efforts to get well and also motivated me to do the tasks. And here I am, after 2 years, off medications, practicing my behavioral techniques and in the best state of my life. I cannot thank him and his team enough. He did what I felt was impossible-Getting rid of obsessive compulsive thoughts and actions. May God bless him. Unequivocally I recommend him for any kind of anxiety issues.

Consulted with a complaint of very distressful noise in the head. Earlier it was diagnosed as tinnitus by many doctors including psychiatrist, psychologists and ENT specialists they all said just live with it ..or ignore it. Frankly I couldn't cope with the agonizing noise in the head, which almost shattered my life. But doctor Ravi prakash listened me patiently and suspected that it could be stress related syndrome. With the help of advanced EEG ,it was confirmed as not a case of tinnitus but psychogenic issue. I was suffering from severe depression and was getting suicidal thoughts. With the doctor Ravi prakash's assurance that the condition can be cured, I regained my courage and followed his advices. Now I am feeling much better though not fully got rid of noise. The best part is he can look at the problem as a psychiatrist as well as a neurologist.. because of his expertise in both the disciplines. An excellent human being and an equally excellent doctor. If you have lost all the hopes in life, please visit him once and you will be greatful to the God.

I came to Bangalore from Kolkata after being wrongly treated by my family physician for a long period of 2 years, who gave me numerous antipsychotic drugs. I was becoming more and more depressed each day even after taking such a long list of drugs. So I came to Bangalore searching for a psychiatrist desperately. I was browsing and I came across some reviews on Dr. Ravi Prakash and I ended up visiting the doctor in his clinic the following day. The first thing he made me believe was ‘I am not a loser’. In a country like India, visiting a psychiatrist is still not taken in a positive way by the society. The doctor made me realize how normal this is. Just like how we can be physically ill, our mind can also feel bad at times. Visiting the doctor number of times have made me realize I have someone to listen to all the troubles in my head without a judgement. There was a time when I was unable to think anything positive, anything good in life. But Dr. Prakash made me realize how scientific the process is, of becoming an optimist from a pessimist. The patience he shows with his patients is the most helpful thing of all. Today I feel like I am a different person and this has only been possible by following the doctor’s advices. So all I want to say to all you people out there feeling distressed, deeply troubled or helpless, do not worry about your situation. Just give the doctor one visit, and you will realize the difference yourself.
Visited For Headache
Excellent experience. I had visited the clinic for headache problem. I was suffering from the same problem for past 15 years. I went to almost all the big hospitals and psychiatrists in Bangalore. Most of the places I felt that the doctors were not interested in listening or finding out the problem in details. Then I visited this particular clinic by someones recommendation. When I visited, I had completely lost hope in having a good treatment. But when Dr. Ravi started talking to me I started getting hope. He asked several questions and went on clarifying for almost 1/2 hour without worrying about time. Finally he made a diagnosis and said I had nothing but tension headache. Then he shared some text with me along with some of his own research works on this disorder. He gave me only one medicine and said that I will be fine by 15 days. And within 10 days, my headache started improving. It was unbelievable for me because I had never seen such a fast improvement in past 15 years. Now I am maintaining well and all the credit goes to Dr. Ravi. I think the key to headaches is a proper diagnosis. In addition, they give some very good study material to educate oneself about a disorder. It was the best experience of my life. Thank you Dr. Ravi and his team...

This had affected my personal & professional life since God knows when (because shockingly I have been battling this for more than 10 years) It came to such a situation that I stopped going to my office suddenly. I would remain at home only. This happened in Apr 2019. I did not know what to do. I didn't even ever think that I was suffering from these issues. Finally after being like this till 12th June...
